My friends Nirasha Jaganath founder of the Boston Social Media group & owner of MommyNiri & Isra Hashmi owner of The frugalette threw quite the bash for a group of bloggers & our families. These awesome ladies enlisted the help of the Royal Sonesta Hotel Boston & the Artbar in Cambridge to put together a mind blowing nice luncheon event that catered to the needs of both children & adults.

Gingerbread replica of Cambridge City Hall at the Royal Sonesta
The Royal Sonesta has a quietly elegant vibe to it, it’s got a simple Zen like layout that is comfortable & soothing for both adults & kids alike. The view is stunning & as a business woman I loved that their business center was located just off the lobby, no hunting for a computer!

Kids feasted & created!
I get invited to a lot of stuff that I feel guilty about because my family is never included. The #BSMHoliday bash was totally different! Our hostesses & the Royal Sonesta thought literally of EVERYTHING! The children had their very own room, their tables decorated with colorful, healthy, edible center pieces, they were able to learn how to make Play dough & use it to create art.

The Children’s dining area
While the kids were busily creating, Liz from the ArtBar was serving up drinks & mixology tips over in the adult room! The Tom & Jerry eggnog was really flavorful but light, not heavy like traditional eggnog drinks!

Okay, the food, it was amazing! The head chef of the hotel prepared scallops for me :)

These were to die for good!
Also offered were an assortment of Panni sandwiches, tomato soup shooters & a Quinoa salad that was very unique I’ve never tasted Quinoa before, it had a nutty flavor that was very nice!

yummy sandwiches!

Fabulously relaxing lunch
And .. the best for last… they had an Ice Cream Sandwich Bar! LOL, I wanted to just park myself at this table :)

The staff was so cheerful!

Warm cookie with caramel ice cream!
My son & I hung out, relaxed & got to mingle with lot of cool Boston bloggers & their families. There was ZERO pressure to tweet, “like” or share. In fact, Niri had to beg the event organizer from the Royal Sonesta to say a few words to us. Apparently, the hotel wanted this event to be totally about & for us.. an afternoon to be enjoyed, not just another blogging obligation! I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this great hotel can & does host family, child friendly events like this one on a regular basis!

My son & I hanging out at the Royal Sonesta
It was so nice to be able to enjoy an afternoon with my son, to be able to have him meet some of the people I blab about endlessly, to have him treated like royalty! Seriously, after we left he couldn’t stop raving about how well we were treated “Mom, you bloggers live like rock stars” :)
As we left the event, everybody got goodie bags stuffed full! My favorite gift? a stuffed Aflac duck promoting their drive to raise funds to combat childhood cancers!
