Those of you who know me understand that I am kitchen challenged, prone to frequent cooking disasters those of you who don’t know take a look at the Geek guide to dining video on my homepage. At any rate, my husband had a lot going on today, so I decided to be a sport and do the cooking tonight, take a burden off my spouse’s shoulders and all that good crap kind of thing.
A Geek with a meal plan
I decided that if I wanted to avoid yet another cooking disaster, I needed to keep the meal easy, simple, oven baked chicken, steamed Brussels sprouts, sweet potato fries done on a baking sheet in the oven, easy enough right? I preheated the oven, got everything put together, tucked it into the oven. Then I got kinda busy reading mashable Sony’s retiring the Walkman cassette dontcha know? Then of course I had to check Twitter and take a peek over at newegg to see if any hardware was on sale…
charcoal is good for the digestive system
I’d show you a picture of the sweet potato fries but I had to get them out of the house before they set off the smoke detectors.. the fire Department charges $500 if they come out on a false alarm.. don’t ask just how I know this At this point in time my family & I have decided it’s time for this geek to hang up her apron, I will NEVER be asked to guest blog on any great cooking site like My Wooden Spoon Note the bald spot on the chicken on the right hand side of the pic, lol, that was charcoal before it was scrapped off!
I know that nobody is good at everything but one would think a person who loves food as much as I do would be better at cooking? What about you? what was your worst cooking disaster?
